This is a film that it wasn't supposed to be! I was shooting this one for PFC too but apparently we needed permissions to shoot at the location I was shooting at. The 'brother' literally had to catch a flight for Hyderabad. We were shooting in Bandra and he had to go back home to pick up his stuff from Indian Oil Nagar in Andheri and then get back to Santacruz airport. Still the chap helped me. We had few more shots left when out of blue came the Bandra police. They threatened us by saying that we were breaking the law and had to pay 25000 rupees fine or else had the option of losing our camera. My camera! We all played innocent and informed police-wallahs that we were unaware that permissions were needed in that area to shoot and we pleaded that they should tell us from where we can get the permissions and we shall go and get it there n then. But it was never about that! Luckily my graphic designer friend who was also acting in film started communicating in Ma...

I cut this during the shoot! Just a feeler! What a great learning experience this film was. I won't hesitate in saying that I learned a lot more while working on this film then in my masters course of fiction film production. We had a great team, our director Raj and DOP Anay were so clear in their thoughts and executions. At times anxiety would creep in me, I would wonder whether I'd able to think deep as guys were thinking. There were many times when these two had different ideas which did not gel together but somehow they managed. At times, the ambience on set was less then desirable but once the film ended, once would have realised that it was for the sake of the film. Creative difference will arise every single time but what is of importance is how to compromise without losing that visual that you have in your mind and how you go about recreating it on film. This is my masters final project. Shot over period of seven days, we had a wonderful team. Insuk Kim from Korea was our director, I was the DOP, David Ritchie was the producer and Vasili was the editor. My friend Duncan helped me as the camera assistant. Ours was truly an international team. We got a local band called 'Nursery of Naughtiness' to do the score. During the final screenings of all the student films, ours was appreciated the most. The comment which made our day that this short film looked most like a proper film! Had a great wonderful time making this film.
